quotes e.13 guide ring 36T = 44g http://www.sicklines.com/gallery/data/529/e1336t.jpg Shimano Saint BB sleeve = 7g http://www.sicklines.com/gallery/data/761/medium/saint_83mm_bb_spacer.jpg Shimano Saint BB cups = 89g http://www.sicklines.com/gallery/data/761/medium/saint_bottom_bracket_83mm_with_spacers.jpg TOTAL = 140g. And you are saying that your cranks with the Saint BB and e.13 ring weights 620g. 620g - (minus) 140g = 480g (this is how much your XT cranks weight) But I know that XT cranks weight 594g. http://www.sicklines.com/gallery/data/529/medium/xt_m770_crankset_175.jpg So, you are telling to us that your XT cranks weigh 114g less then "normal" XT cranks (picture above)?

quotes OMG, just read my post upon yours. This are just the weights of the cranks and thats the only difference in weight!! XT and Saints are both without bolts and bb. Ok, sure...XT bolts for fixing the ring may be lighter, but maybe for 10g. The same goes for the bottom bracket (Saint 83mm is 96g, XT 73mm is 90 - waw, big difference). And the ring doesn't count couse you don't have to use the heavy Saint ring (38T weights 80g), but you can just take e.13 which weights between 45 and 55g (36-40T). Which you did :P You wrote down that your XT cranks weight 620g with BB, which can't be couse only cranks weight 594g -> adding the bb makes the weight 680-690g. And you wrote that the new Saint weights 1059g, but they weight 928g. FACT: difference is 174g + few grams on bb + (maybe) few grams on bolts (which you can always change for lighter ones). In total this can't be more then 190g in difference. And you wrote down that the difference is 300g :P The weight of the custom XT 83mm BB is 620g(inclusive with Saint BB,single chainring setup) Please don't tell me that 620g is the weight for XT cranks, Saint BB and e.13 ring :)

quotes P.S. you scale doesn't work :P XT cranks weights 594 gr. + bb is like 90 gr. Which makes more like 680 gr. So I really don't know where you get the weight of XT cranks + bb at 620 gr.

quotes I was just talking about the cranks, couse you can always mount a ring which ever you want - like e.13 which is one of the lightness. http://www.sicklines.com/gallery/data/761/medium/Saint_FC_M815_83mm_170mm.jpg = 768 gr. http://www.sicklines.com/gallery/data/529/medium/xt_m770_crankset_175.jpg = 594 gr. Weight difference is 174 gr. (on XT is missing the plastic "lock-ring" which also weights few grams :P ) Saint BB weights just few grams more couse its longer then the XT. So, now do you your homework 1st. ;)

quotes The difference between XT (594gr.) and the (new) Saint (768gr.)is 168 gr. I would never mount cranks with 73mm shell on a frame with 83mm to save some weight.

quotes The fox40 is probably better then the boxxer race, but when it comes to the team version, can only su*k my di*k :)
